Jacob C Hammes An ongoing series of ceramic police cars that appear to be melting, cracking and peeling. Made from porcelain-dipped stoneware, the “incorrect” fabrication of these works encourage them to fall apart in the kiln, introducing uncertainty into the organic chemistry of ceramics. These works seek to demonstrate an understanding of state power and their associated symbols are bound by the same entropic forces of deterioration and decay as all organic things, flawed, damaged, and impermanent. |
